Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of SOLVR. By creating an account or buying a case you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these terms; material changes will be communicated by email.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and to use SOLVR. By signing up you confirm you are 18 or older. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for anything done under your account. One account per person.

3. Pricing, purchases & access window

Each case is a one-time purchase, charged in USD at the price shown at checkout. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to play the case in line with these terms.

• Active window: 7 days, beginning the first time you open the case from your Files.
• Hold window: 90 days from purchase. If you never open the case within 90 days, it expires unredeemed.
• Replays: unlimited within the active window.
• After expiry: the case becomes read-only in your Files. You may reactivate within 14 days at 30% off via a discount code we automatically issue.

4. Refunds

See our Refund Policy. In short: all sales are final. We do not refund simply because you chose not to launch a case — your unopened case is held in your Library for 90 days. Refunds are issued only for technical faults on our side, duplicate charges, or where mandatory consumer law requires it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Share your account credentials or resell access to cases.
• Attempt to extract case content, suspect knowledge, or the underlying solution programmatically (scraping, reverse-engineering AI prompts, etc.).
• Record gameplay or interrogation transcripts for commercial distribution.
• Use SOLVR to harass, defame, or harm others, or to generate content that violates our AI provider’s policies (hate speech, sexual content involving minors, etc.).
• Submit fraudulent reviews or create fake accounts to manipulate ratings or promotions.
• Probe, scan, or attempt to bypass our security or rate limits.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, without refund where the breach involves intentional abuse.

6. AI-assisted dialogue

Suspects in SOLVR are powered by an AI model constrained to authored case truth. Suspect responses are generated dynamically and may vary across runs. AI never owns critical solvability — every case is solvable through the deterministic engine. We do not guarantee that suspect dialogue is free of error or perfectly consistent across re-asks.

7. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance, third-party outages (payments, AI, hosting), or force majeure may cause downtime. If a documented outage prevents you from playing during your active window, we will extend or refund eligible purchases.

8. Intellectual property

All case content — narratives, suspects, clues, art, audio — is owned by SOLVR or licensed to it. You receive a personal licence to play, not to redistribute. Brand, logo, and product name are trademarks of SOLVR.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, SOLVR is provided “as is”. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything that cannot be limited by law.

10. Termination

You can close your account anytime from the Account page. We can terminate or suspend access for material breach of these terms. Termination does not, by itself, entitle you to a refund of completed purchases.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SOLVR is registered. Disputes will first be addressed informally before either party pursues formal proceedings. Consumer protections in your country of residence still apply where mandatory.
